THE RENAISSANCE DIFFERENCE
All children, regardless of background or previous life circumstance, can thrive academically if they are shown respect and taught to respect each other.
Scholars will excel academically when they are held to high expectations for success and are taught with a rigorous curriculum by high quality educators.
Our culture of respect is based on an uncompromising commitment to routines and procedures that ensure a safe and nurturing environment where students are allowed to take risks, ask questions, develop their social-emotional intelligence. This is all done within the context of culturally sensitive educational approaches.
To be successful in college and beyond, it is imperative to develop the habits of mind and non-academic skills of scholars to build a foundation for personal excellence of character.
An intentional and regular partnership between home and school fosters a continuity of learning. Parent/guardian engagement and involvement is pro-actively sought and encouraged through the life of our school.
Student academic growth and progress towards mastery of standards, rather than the traditional measures of work and effort put into the instructional delivery of material, will provide transparent and timely feedback on student learning. RCA will adjust resources and instructional practice as needed based on student progress towards mastery of skill and content in each subject.
